I would love to have one of each. I chose my coupe primarily on economics. At the time, I got a MUCH BETTER DEAL on my coupe (more car for the money), than I could have with a convertible.

Go with your heart. Buy whatever excites you!!

Default Coupe or Convertible?

It will always be a matter of personal preference.

I don't race my A4 CE vert. and you cannot beat cruising with the top down on a sunny day. As for those stating the lines of a coupe are much nicer than a vert., well I totally disagree. With the vert. there is no bulbous look from the side windows back. The vert. gives the impression of a lowered top and it helps to make the rear end stand out like a beautiful lady.

You can't go wrong either way.......... gl

This is my first Convertible Vette, I've owned Coupes in the past, and even though taking the targa top off, is nice.

It doesn't hold a candle to going TOPLESS

So if you can sacrifice track days, and use your vehicle 99% fo the time on a public road. The Vert is the way to go!

No offense intended here - but

Nearly all of the guys and gals who have coupes are going to tell you, "Yeah, but it's the best of both worlds..." "I've got more cargo space in my coupe...." "I like the lines of the coupe better than the convertible with the top up...." blah, blah, blah....

You have a convertible C1 - sounds like you've got your mind made up already.

If it really matters I have a convertible and if I needed or wanted more storage space, I'd buy a TRUCK! And no - remove the taga top is not the same as taking the top down on a convertible. But you already know these things!

There is nothing like having the top down and being surrounded by air ...I had a cpe. and I felt like I was in prison during the Spring and Fall and half of the summer...and to the guy who had a Vert 20 years ago...thats like having a Modle A as compared with the easy take down of the C5 top...Can't see how anyone wouldn't love a Vert
btw...I also have a 1995 Vert and it is also wonderful with the top down...

if we are doing comparisons of lines...the coupe looks like a blowtoad...also it looks pregnant

I'm going to go one better here and agree with my wife's philosophy. "It's not a real American Sports Car unless it is a red convertible."

Also, while reading several posts above where the lines of a coupe are touted, I had to laugh because the lines of the Vert in my opinion are way better. With the top down or up the car looks great!

Like someone said in a post I read yesterday, opinions are like *****, we all have one. Since Skyman asked, this one is mine.

I'd say this is a very personal choice.

Mine was coupe. I like having the roof over me, I like the the roof "lines" of the coupe and of course, we coupe owners have the capability of removing the roof panel above us, all in one nice easy to handle section.

I kicked it around for about 3 months and decided on a coupe. i am happy with the choice. in the end, you need to decide on your needs and go from there.
The coupe with the top off is just great and i really like the looks of it also.

That's why I have a full size 4X4 Van. Goes everywhere in any weather and carries everything. Doesn't go fast, have topless capabilities, or have the same WOW as the vert. Also your C1 probably doesn't have the same "fast genes" as the C5

Well since your asking for comments, my vote is for the coupe.
It is a lot less money and IMO has nicer lines. It is better for track days, canyon carving, drag racing, and other sporting events. The coupe has more storage, the best aerodynamics of all the C5 body styles, and has a safer, quieter, and more secure removable top. The convertible has a somewhat feminine look to me. IMO, Save some money for mods and buy the coupe.

Oh, and BTW, the coupe and vert are both convertibles! They just convert differently.

Cruising in a vert is like nothing else. I'm partial to verts, and I love the lines with the top down, but I have to admit the coupe looks pretty cool too.

And since you already have a Vert I would go with the coupe for a daily driver. A lot of room in the coupe and more secure. Yes it is noisey and turbulent with the targa top off but it's still a nice feature especially with the glass top. The Vert guys are very loyal and I respect that, if I could have 2 Vette's the second would be a Vert. But just one for a daily driver I prefer the coupe. You'll love it either way.

Why not get one of each!!?? They each have good qualities and then you have a choice each day of what to drive.......

And you don't have to sacrifice racing if you get a vert...just put a rollbar in it....(ours will be getting one in the near future)......
