Probably - but you can't go wrong in dealing with a quality company like VetteEssentials. You know what you're getting and they will be there to help with any info. you might need after the fact.

Sure! Lots of them.

Tell you what, send me $100 and I'll send you the foam for your seats. Really! I'm not kidding. For $100 I'll actually send you foam for your seats.

Course, it'll be foam rubber I got from Wal-Mart that I cut with a pocket knife ten minutes after I cash your check, but I'll really send you some foam for your seats. I'll be using top quality stuff and I'll really send you the foam, so you shouldn't have any problem with it, right? I'm a bunch cheaper than Vette Essentials.

Don't like that idea? Didn't much think you would. Never is the phrase, "You get what you pay for" more true than when dealing with cars. Vette Essentials has an excellent reputation for quality and customer service. No, they aren't the cheapest place around, but their prices are fair. Do us all a favor and get your foam there, otherwise we'll be starting a thread about, "Lousy foam vendor ripped me off, what do I do?" in about a month.

VE is the best and it pays to get the best! While you're at it, you might consider changing both seats - jmho, of course!

My drivers side seat could use a little help on the bottom left bolster. I'll give VE a ping too and see about a bottom foam. The leather is fine, just the foam is a little 'down' on the outside edge. Thanks for bringing this up, I thought they just did leather.

You can buy the foam also from Gene@Fredbeans.com or Bob@Fichtner.com

Both are forum vendors,,, I bought mine from Gene, he was the cheapest...and I had them in three days.

ET, the trouble with getting a GM replacement is that, as I understand it, the foam used in 97-98's wasn't nearly as dense as that used in later models. That's why it needs to be replaced in the first place. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

You are replacing either base seats or sports seat with the appropriate foam. Any foam ordered to day will be of the most recent updated stuff. The seat frames are the same for the foam be they base or sports.
the foam is molded so you just cant buy foam and replace it, it has to conform to the seat frame, also the foam has velcro bands to lock the skins to the foam and enhance the bolsters and pleating..the skins have matching velcro pieces.
Here is a good tip.. if you decide to buy new foam, make sure you use extra padding at the seat frame wing at the bolster where you get in the car. Also when you remove the old seat cusion foam ( where your butt contacts the seat, not the back foam or the insert foam. the actual seat cushion.,.( take you8r old seat cushion, cut off the four skirts, just leaving the center section..... place this inside the new seat cushion, and your but will have an extra dense area where your butt contacts the seat.. you will nor see the extra padding but your butt will know its there... contact me if you dont understand

Default Replacing the foam rubber in the seats

This is a real easy fix.The seat covers have a draw string under the seats. When the draw string is loosened, you can pull the cover up and out of the way.I did it the real easy way.Iwent down to the neighbor hood upholstery shop and purchased the foam rubber there.I traced the outline of the seat with a marking pen and cut the rubber with a serrated blade kitchen knife. The serrated blade cuts the rubber like butter.Slipped the rubber in between the old rubber and the cover and walla. Its just like a new seat. All for$20 .$10 bucks a seat.

THats not going to help the original poster of this thread who is looking to replace the upper two sections also.. the old lower seat foam takes the biggest beating and the lower side bolster are pretty flat and dont stand tall like the new denser foam.. the ols seat cushion would make a good back up like I said for the new lower seat cushion.. the old seat foam will leave the three sides very flat.
