I also have a set of chrome wagon wheels that are on a 99 and are cherry. I use something I never hear anyone mention but it's the best product I've ever used for KEEPING dirt and grim OFF metal or painted surfaces - Dura Lube car wax. That's right the stuff on the infomercial. I don't use it on my Vette's paint just the wheels and exhaust tips. It goes on easy and you take it off with a water hose, so you can get in any nook and cranny and not have to worry about residue removal- it's water soluable so once you let it dry and hazeover water renses it off. I garantee it works. Also, if you have an everyday station car, one that you don't garage, this stuff is great on the paint - once you do your car with it you almost start to hope for rain when your car gets dirty - the dirt ROLLs off you car. For best results you (please don't all scream at once) DON't use wax on the car-just the DuraLube (Do not bother jumping all over this tread because I'm entering the witness protection program as soon as I post). HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.
Once you have a protective coat of what ever you use(I only use Windex) try this it takes me less than 10 mins to do all 4. I run the driver at the faster speed and the duster gets way inside the little nooks and cranies. You can set the clutch on the driver so if you do happen to get it jammed into too tight a space it will slip and not break the duster. Buffs them up real nice on the outside. The dusters are just a couple of bucks.

For my chrome wheels, I wash them often and about 2-3 times a year put a good coat of wax on them. Has kept them looking nice and shiny for 2 1/2 years now.

you always start with the least aggressive chemical..
1)gasoline would be next
2)then finger nail polish remover acetone. ( this stuff is dangerous to your paint so be careful.
3)lacquer thinner also very dangerous.

I'll try the above next & report back. Won't be for a day or 2 though. Thanks! Ron
