Default GHL Tip Adjustment Tips...

OK, so I've been under it 4 times and I just can't seem to get it right. I know I'm a retard because everyone says these are the easiest tips to adjust...so I know it has got to be me

Peace

I did the same thing.

I ended up loosening everything back up, including the bolts holding the cat backs to the H pipe and started over.

My problem was I had one side slid in farther on the passenger’s side than I did on the drivers.

I will say this, the GHL's have a great amount of adjustability in them.

Just helped a fellow Corvetteforum member install these on Friday. Had the exact same problem and ended up with the exact same look you've got. It appears the problem is with the fixture they use for the driver's side tips. They ended up being better than the stock tips though so we called it a day.

Handy little tip:

The exhaust does move and flex when you rev it or drive the car hard. If you've adjusted it seemingly perfect at a standstill and find it never looks the same after driving a while, take note of what is moving up or down and adjust it slightly more in the opposite direction to compensate. Adjust it so far it may look "not right" when you first set it that way, but after driving it will settle in level.

It may take some time to perfecty dial it in, but this is what I ran into.

One thing I noticed about my set of bullets with 3.5" tips was that there was a difference between the tips and they were apparently left and right specific. When they were reversed there was no way to adjust them even (vertically and equal depth); I thought at first I had an incorrect bend or mismatched parts of some sort. A last ditch switch and they lined up perfectly. I never saw any documentation that they were side specific (or I missed it). I don't know if all GHLs are side specific like that or if it was a result of being hand made. Either way, once on there, they're fabulous.

I made what I believe to be a final adjustment on mine yesterday, with the level and the ratchet. I finally have that 1/8" of adjustment tweaked out (no one else notices - just me!) and the pipes are finally aligned.

Willfullone - When GHL emailed you, what were their suggestions?

That is why I went with the GHL Magnum Plus two tip system. The same cans that the Bullet system uses but much easier to line up. I have seen some Bullet systems out there that look like complete butt. Almost like they were backed into a curb they are so far out of line.

Willfulone,

If all else fails, call JJ at GHL. I was lucky enough to have JJ install mine on my 2004 CE Coupe and he knows his stuff. I do have the same 2 tip design as jedicowboy, but JJ will give you the right help to get your 4 tip system dialed in just right. Good luck.
