Take a large flat tipped screwdriver and carefully insert it into the narrow side of the door lid........then gently pry the screwdriver toward the larger gap, shouldn't take more than two or three pulls on the screwdriver, and presto......it's centered. Need any more heplful tips, just let me know.

Thanks man, that worked like a charm. Except I used a crowbar instead.

P.S. just kidding. I was able to adjust it by loosening some nuts and then re-tightening them once it was aligned. Don't use a crowbar or screwdriver.
