Well, I'm on my fourth Vette. My first one was purchased in 1972 (convertible with hardtop) and I put 30k+ miles a year on it. I kept it for three years before it died on me (blown engine). I then bought a 1974 coupe and kept it 2.5 years before selling it. Then I bought a 1981 (after a hiatus of six years) and kept it for 2.5 years. All of these cars were used everyday in NJ, winter and summer. I found that after two years of everyday driving, the parts started going. I was young and broke then, but the car was ok as an everyday car.
Anyway, I just bought a 2002 coupe after not having a Vette for twenty years. The newer ones are "miles" ahead of the older cars as far as dependability (so far! ). My current car is used as a second car. I'll report on how it "acts" as time goes on.
