The top on my coupe has been rattling for several months, I've tried to have it fixed at the body shop but nothing has been permanent. Anybody have this problem that they solved for good (with or without dealership working on it)?
is it rattleing from the back or the front....when i had a coupe it had a rattle from the front of the top and i took the latch covers out loosened the latches and readjusted them really snug and that solved the problem...hope this helps
Sorry I left that part out. It is rattling from the back on the passenger side near the post that goes into the hole.
I believe the adjustment mentioned above was performed twice by the body shop guy (who is very good and knowledgable).
Mine was rattling right above my head. It took me the longest time to finally figure out where it was! I think I was stopped at the store waiting for the wife when I found it. I took a gum rapper, folded it up and wedged it in the hole where the pin fits. That’s kind of a tacky fix but it works and my top doesn’t rattle anymore and nobody but me knows about it. Well, I guess every body knows now!
I put regular size Curad plastic bandages over the alignment holes, installed top - no rattles.

...now that is really putting a bandaid on it...
never had a loose top in my coupe...
...except when the latch on the right was not fastened...
...the only other rattle I had was from the center latch...
...apparently the rubber bumper came out an dcontinually clattered against the top...
Since mine does it too, I may just go at it with a dremel to enlarge the hole. The Dremel fix will look a lot better than felt or bandaids, and may even look like a factory job. (saying that like it's a good thing)
