I noticed today a noise comming from my rear drivers side wheel. It is only audiable when driving slowly (~30mph and slower), its almost like a squeaking/grinding sound...and i think its comming from the caliper.
My first thought was that the pad as just barley rubbing on the disk.
I drove the car later in the day and the sound was gone and didnt come back... but i donno for how long...
Next time you hear that noise...slowly lift the E Brake handle and see if it goes away...The E Brake shoes have a wave spring that helps center the shoe in the drum...Sometimes they don`t exactly center and rub a bit.
I had the same thing happen once in a different car and found a dead leaf had wedged itself in the caliper...made one heck of a noise . Removed leaf and all was well . Hopefully its no more than that for you! Good luck!

or it could be a small child or a Mustang driver.
But what do I know about who you run over.
i was thinking that the brakes could be wearing...but none of the other indicators are squeaking, and wouldnt the fronts go before the rears because they take much more of the braking power?

It all depends, when was the last time your front pads were changed?
