Hurst Shifter....Noisy
I received a new Hurst Shifter, a red anodized shift **** and a WCC console cover for Christmas and installed all three immediately. I have only had one opportunity for a test drive but it was about 100 miles. The shifter has a little bit of a buzz and I do hear a bit of transmission noise and I like it. At this time I have no plans to do anything about it. The shifter, after getting used to the shorter shifts, has a great feel and is a definite improvement over stock. Most of my driving is highway and after I get to speed the shifter noise is completely drowned out by tire noise anyway.

The buzz you're hearing generally has to do with the shift **** you're using. Try a different **** or teflon taping the threads on the shifter. I know you said you like the transmission noise, but if you want to eliminate it, try a 1 1/2" or 2" PVC end cap. Drill a hole in the center of it and slide it down on top of the rubber boot of the shifter. Does a pretty good job of eliminating the noise.
