My wife and I had a son (COREY) a couple of weeks ago and the submarine I m on let me come home from Singapore to see him. Well, during the time I was home, I drooled over every corvette I saw. Everytime I saw one, I would just point at it and ask my wife..."See that vette?!" (My vette is at frineds in PEARL HARBOR and I am visiting my relatives in Charleston, SC.
Well, we drove to a dealership to buy her a SUV and I drooled on the C6 while I was in the showroom and then we left. When we went to Georgia (KINGS BAY) to introduce Corey to the grandfolks, we went out to eat and there it was a brand new C6 outside. LEFT outside. Maybe it is me, but I have never seen brand new vettes of any year left outside. I just couldn't believe it.
I just miss my baby!
Now that I have a son, I just don't look at every performance part as something I "MUST" have. I have really just mellowed out a bit....Is this normal?
Congrat's on your son and thanks for your service to our Country

I also had this via email last week. "If you're reading this thank a teacher
If you are reading this in English
Thank a US Soldier."

Congratulations on the birth of a future Corvette fanatic!
Priorities change as we travel down the road - it's called being mature and making good quality decisions.
As I slip my flame suit on - I'll say that no matter we make of it, the Vette is still a car. Sure it's a lifestyle and a passion for nearly everyone here (they wouldn't be here if it wasn't! ). But Vettes don't melt and they survive quite nicely being used a daily drivers.
Have a healthy, happy and safe New Year to you, your family and the folks that serve with you - thanks!

Congrats on having a son and a Corvette at the same time. My son had to join the Navy before I could buy mine! He just got out of Great Lakes and left this morning for Meridian for A school. Thanks to all of you for serving and protecting. It's okay, the C6 will be okay being left outside. I have a neighbor who leaves his C5 outside, hoses it off and doesn't dry it! My wife cracks up at how upset I get, but she tells me it's okay, mine just got a better home.

Congrats on the birth on your son. Family first even before a Vette. That was the biggest reason I bought my Vert before I got married. Commitment to family always comes first and it would be hard to sell the Vette if I had to.
