Please Help,
Purchased 2002 new. Live in orange county and trying to find repair shop. Thus far every time I've taken to dealers the techs didn't know anything and always induced more problems than they fixed. I like the car with the exception of GM service and of course the interior and electronics. Please help with this pile of junk.
Current problems;
1. Had driver visor replaced and now the wire to it shorts out and blows a fuse.
2. Had leaks fixed on the top and now the top won't fold up properly into trunk.
3. Had a rim replaced and the new one looks like the clear coat was removed.
4. The heater blows cold air out the windshield vent and hot air on my feet.
5. About once a month the car displays active handling requires service but this goes away once the car is restarted. Also when this occurs the right and left front brakes pulse when the car goes over bumps. Shop can't find any problem but really don't even now what I'm talking about. This is scary and I think caused the car to spin out going 65 down the freeway.
You need to find yourself a "good" service place to help you. Enter another post looking for suggestions for a good service place where you live. We've got good people here who can help you.
However, if you need to get rid of that "pile of junk" just let me know!
Dealer that can repair Corvettes in Orange County?
Thanks that's why I posted this, and to also find out if the active handling has caused crashes. This is curently my 5th dealer! and this is LA so mostly illegals work on the cars here. Example: The dealer put a piece wire on my trucks throttle to carb linkage which I don't mind but the vett is a different story.

Easy for me to say.....but, I think it has a lot more to do with the place you're taking the C5 to than the car itself. Do a search or reach out to other members in your area for a quality place for service. Good Luck.

I think this thread is Two posts by this newbie and he says he's used five dealers in the over two years he's had the car. Says he "likes the car with the exception of GM service and of course the interior and electronics", and "please help me with this piece of junk." There's more to this than it appears.

Sorry if I offended you just trying to get my car fixed! Guess I expect to much! Not really interested in working on it myself and if I drop it off at the dealer to get the top or visor fixed and a fuse blows or the top won't go down on the way home I generally don't return to that dealer again. The only time a dealer fixed the car properly was when I had the time (travel half the year) to stand their watching and make them fix it again and again.
it sounds like you have a vert, ive been recommended to take my vert to westminster upohstery in anaheim, i havent gotten there yet but maybe next week when it dries up alittle for a top adjustment.
and i certainly understand the illegal issue your refering to.
and that would be anaheim ca, across the street from wcc, on red gum.

Maybe try to find a Corvette Club local to you and ask around where the members take their cars. I've found that if the service is poor, club members will let you know about it. Good luck getting it fixed.
