Red/Clr tails step inside ...
Anyone black out their lights like this or similar? Contemplating this color mod ... I've seen the whoe blackout, but never the red/clr or red/amber combo. I'll have to spray on lens smoke paint, so this will be permanent. Any / all thoughts welcome ... TIA!
Here's one with the side marker done as well ...

I do NOT like the black look AT ALL.
Seems like you are attempting to jeapordize your safety by blacking out your brake lights.
I've always wondered why people black out their tail lights.
I have always had my mind set that if for some reason I EVER end up rear-ending someone with blackouted out lights, they are going to wish it was someone else that had hit them.
just make sure that ur brake lights are somewhat visible in the day for other drivers...wouldnt want to fight that in court if you get rear ended and they blame ur tail lights...

The paint they use is translucent and the red shinnes thru easily. Unless someone goes overboad and lay down too many coats.

Thanks for the forethought everyone. Like I said, it was an idea. I'm not willing to put anyone else in harms way for looks. Maybe I can come up with something removeable, just for shows and such. I'll do some more research into what options I have.
I totally respect all of your opinions and appreciate your concern for everyone's safety. Thanks for your cander. I always love the honest and upfront answers and opinions we give and get here. That's why I ran it by you all.
I have seen plastic "cling on" black outs that guys put on their lights just at shows while the car is parked.
Not really sure why they do that, but if they like the look, that's fine and they have chosen a good way to do it............. while the car is parked ONLY.

I like the look alot. Why not just use a brighter bulb in the brake light and now you are safe again.

So, then what we have is spend some money to make the tail light black (black out paint or whatever), but becasue we did that, spend some more money to make them red again (brighter bulbs).
