With temps @ 70 here in Kansas today, I decided to wash my coupe. I've noticed a number of new chips in my hood in just the 1.5K I've driven it. It's city driven & pampered. Is this normal wear & tear?
I got some on mine too. It's the nature of the roads.
Get GM color match.
Sharp toothpick.
Let it gel a bit on the tip apply into nick.
Let it dry.
Little McGuires scratch remover.
Little mcGuires wax.
On the other hand if you are like most of us you'll get it reshot at a gooooood bodyshop.
It's a part of driving your Vette like you should be doing. The last vette gathering I was at I picked up tons of sand blast type of hits on my nose, including chips. You just need a good Porter Polisher or rotary, some good products(Menzerna or 3M) and a little know how and your good as new. Takes an hour or so.

I used to worry about this too and then one day it finally dawn on me, "Why am I saving this car for the next guy?" Drive it; enjoy it; don't worry ... talk to a Corvette Club and find out who does their paint work. With modern techniques and materials the repaints are higher quality and have less orange peel than the factory finish.
Here's a story for you. The very first day I picked up my car, I got a nice scar in my front passenger side bumper. I purchased my 04 about 2.5 hrs from where I live and on the way home a pick-up truck with some loose debris (looked like the plastic core from a roll of tape) flew out and hit my bumper. Since then I have only acquired a very tiny pin ***** of a chip in my drivers side headlight cover. I like Benpup's toothpick idea and will give it a try in the spring.
