I have the Kumho's and like em. They are a great value but would not expect to get more mileage than other tires. I know there are guys out there getting 30K out of a set but for guys like us that actually drive our cars I will be happy to get 15k out of them......
I have the MX's on three cars (well 2.5, the Vette only on the fronts) and gone through a few sets. They are very sticky and have a stiff sidewall to really stick in the corners as well. Wear is bad, so you have to factor that in on the bang/buck factor. If you want a tire that will stick like glue in the dry and is still decent elsewhere, thats a good option.
On my turbo Focus I have two sets of wheels and on the one I have MX's and the other 712s. I got the 712's because they are by far the cheapest tire you can still call a performance tire out there, but they do NOT whatsoever compare to the performance on the MX's. And since thats a back to back test on the same car, I feel pretty confident making that distinction (its so hard otherwise though since you are often replacing worn out tires with new ones otherwise).

I have the Kumho Ecsta MX on my stock rims and think they are a very good all around tire for the money. I'm on my second set of front and only got 10k on the first set... BUT, I only got 3k on my first set of F1 SCs, so considered 10k not bad.
I think the stock F1 SCs on the Z06 out performed the Ecsta MX in the dry and damp, but the Ecsta is better in standing water (e.g. rain and puddles). I've used them on the track in dry, damp and wet conditions and they are a good tire.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, especially given the price.
I am not a track guy and was hoping to hear I could get more miles from them ,maybe I should look for a higher priced tire and go for more miles, really dont what to hassle with new tires every year. Thanks for your responses and keep um coming !
I am hoping to get a set of the Run Flat model of this tire. I had these tires on my old '69 Camaro and they were great. Unfortunately the Run Flats are on back order until July or August according to Tire Rack. I hope mine last that long.
Sounds good ,is that runflats or the non runflats??Not sure itf that would matter ,plan on going with the non after seeing the post above about back order.
I'm amazed at the Kumho Ecsta MXs. I've tried my best to wear them off during about 3 low speed and one high-speed events (auto x and road races) and they hold up like crazy.
Plus they are so much quieter and smoother riding than the EMTs.
