My 2002 Coupe was backed over by an SUV, not crushed, replacing hood , bumper and left headlight door. They are going to repaint back to the doors to blend the QS. Fenders are untouched.
I need a Corvette expert to fax me a letterhead on their opinion about my lost value at resale..I have opinions ranging from $3000 to $5000. It has 11300 miles, MSRP $48,810, every option but Mags. WAS showroom condition..estimate on repairs $2597.00. The lady has Progressive and they dont even want to talk about loss of value..under the Tn. law I can file a claim, but I need backup from experts. HELP

Go to three dealerships and get estimates on the value of your car (see the used car manager). Have them state how much the accident reduced the value of your car.

With no major stucture/frame damage, you might be hard put to get much of anything. Do each of your panels have stickers on then w/ GM part # and a toll free number?
If anyone bought your car, and noticed different part numbers, then you may have to explain it was minor.
When I got mine, the front fascia and hood part numbers did not match, but no-where could I find anything about dimunition of value when I bought it! No where could I find that it was repaired, at least not a GM dealer anywhere, nor did car-fax turn up anything. Previous owner claims no idea why numbers are different. Would never know it by looking though.
Just get it fixed. Real dimunition of value applies in varying degrees, and I'd bet this would be on the low side, BUT - Good luck anyway.

AGREED - Diminished Value is major damage however if you got an attorney you could prolly get some $$ or request they paint the whole car. Depends on how you feel about that - I would only paint the entire car if something didn't match otherwise the less paint work done the better. I know I would be pissed if I had a car with that low mileage and someone hit it.
