Exhaust Install - Do you have to unbolt sway bars?
Without cutting the stock exhaust off, can you remove it one piece without unbolting the sway bars? I will have access to a host and we will be doing 3 cars in the spring - a 2003 6 speed, a 2003 auto and a 1999 6 speed. Just wondering if by unbolting, then twisting and turning the stock exhaust we can removing without undoing sway bars, etc.
Thanks

dropping the sway bar is sooo easy and will give you extra clearance when doing the job. Retorque the clamps to 49 lb ft for the top bolt and 70 lb ft for the bottom one.

Drop the sway bar via the brackets but leave the links attached. Let the sway bar hang as low as it'll go with the links still attached.
On the A4, you'll need to pull off the passenger-side heat shield for clearance to get that muffler out.

You'll see the little bracket on each side. Theres 2 bolts, holding each bracket in. Just take all 4 bolts out, and pull the bracket off. The sway bar will swing down. Thats all you need to do. Its really easy to do that, and will make things much easier. Just make sure you have the car high enough if you don't have a lift. It has to be really high to get the exhaust to rotate around and clear the axle.

35" is how I had mine to get out the stock exhaust. Drivers side comes out with out dropping the sway bar but forget it on the passengers side.
Drop the sway bar and you will be a happy camper.

I put my Corsa's on at my shop last month. Piece of cake IF you have ALL... DEEPWELL sockets and an extension for the ratchett of at least 6". The nuts are on such long bolts that you need deep wells. The bolt that holds the muffler bracket is so far up you need an extension... And because the rear facia is so full of C**p you need to wear a pair of goggles .... trust me!!!

When I had my mufflers installed, they undid the sway bar brackets and it made the job go very smooth. The directions recommended taking the brackets loose so the sway bar could swing out of the way.
