Hey hopp you all had a great New Year! I am going to upgrade my tires from the stock run flats since they already can't handle the engine as is, ie stock, these tires stink! Gm, really is this all the better you could do? Anyway, simple question, what brands do forum members like best and why? I do not drive in snow, it is a weekend car that will only see rain if I get caught out in it, dry traction is my main concern, no DR's please. Let the opinions fly.

I love my Dunlop SP9000 285/40ZR18's (went with the 285 because of the Z rating) ...

but most members here I've heard go with everything from Yoko's to Michelin Pilots. It really just depends on who you're talking to.

My current tires are almost done. When it's time, I plan to go with Nitto 555 R-II.

When I change mine I will probably go with the Michelin run craps. Because the wife also drives the car and I don't want her to be stuck anywhere.

I might consider the C-6 Goodyear run-flats if they bring them out in the right size.

I have a set of Goodyear F1 Supercars and they perform just fine. When I have to replace them, I will either go with them again or the Goodyear GS-D3.

Off to a good start, Thanks to everyone who has replied. Now I know every Forum member has tires on their ride so lets crank up the heat. So far looks like BFG KDW, Pilot Sport and Nitto 555's are representing well, what you say?

I have these and LOVE em!! Dry traction is FANTASTIC!! I haven't had the problem with wet traction others talk about, but when it's raining, I drive MUCH more conservatively... Can't beat the price either!

I have plenty of tread left on my GY's but I plan on replacing them with the Pilot Sport runflats.

I went with Toyo Proxes. I love them. About $800 delivered for the non runflats.

I heard that these are horrible in the rain. There was even a big writeup on an accident recently in the rain with these tires on the car. Maybe it had more to do with the driver, but I would do some research on the tire if you use it as a daily driver.

I am going with the Pilots when my GYs die...

I have had the Michelin Pilot sports and loved them. I have had the C6 wheels with the Goodyear Super Car EMT's and really liked them too. I am now switching to the BFG KDW in the next week or so... I will let you know how that goes.

Check the C6 section for tire and wheel assemblys for sale... you can pick up an entire set of C6 wheels and tires with 15 or 30 miles on them for $1500.

Kuhmo! 550 for all four tires...and they blow the run craps out of the water!
