Default Headers...

Anyone have any feedback on Dynatech Headers. Would anyone consider buying used LG longtube headers? They're coming off a '99 vert with 20,000 mi. Thanks

Would consider it, depending on price. What's the mileage on the headers? Why are you canking them in favor of D-tech?

I'm not yanking them, they're coming off a car that is being sold for parts. I think they have around 10k-12k on them.

All I have heard is good things about the Dynatech headers. They will be on my car someday.

My dynatech long tubes just arrived today and will be installed within a few weeks. I believe the dynatechs are very similar in design to the LGs with longer primaries (32") compared to others such as the kooks. This is intended to develop slightly more low end torque (correct me if anyone disagrees). I really like the dynatechs because they are entirely stainless steel and are very high quality, certainly just as good as the LGs. I bought mine from texas speed & performance for under $1300 (these guys are awesome, they are really willing to help you with your decision and make recommendations). I just couldnt rationalize spending another $450 for the LGs when the dynatechs will produce identical hp and torque gains depending on who you talk to. When you look at the dynatechs you can really see how well constructed they are.

Default Second vocation!

Brian,

If I didn't know any better I'd say you sell Supermaxx's for a living. Great testimonial and I agree with it all, which is why I opted to save the money as well. Can't wait to get them on along with the Magnaflow Catback and Vararam from Shawn at LAPD.

After doing the research, for me it was Dynatech SuperMaXX headers. I needed all four O2 sensor hookups. Also for my 99 I didn't want to remove the intake manifold to change to the newer AIR tube setup. I believe that LG is going to put the four O2 sensor hookups on all their new models this year but I'm not sure there is any change for the AIR tube.

I did the install myself and was pleased with how it has all worked out. Here is a link to three pictures of my headers from below.

Mowton,
I am going to petition for a free system for my dynatech advertising campaign. You are going to love the magnaflows. I have had them for about 6 months on my 2000 coupe and they produce a nice clean sound without being overbearing until you step on it! No resonance at cruise but not as loud as borlas or bullets. The magnaflows also have the coolest looking tips.

Ron,
Your exhaust system looks awesome installed. I'd say that it is quite an improvement over the stock manifold.

I have been reading this forum for about a good 6 months and just picked up a 2000 H/T and I am now looking at starting the mod process.. From what I see the Kooks are on a lot of the fastest cars.. I think I will either go with the LG's or the Kooks..

Ron,

How do you keep the bottom of you car looking like that? I have had my 2004 for 10 months now and cringe to see what it looks like when it finally goes up on a lift for the Header/Catback install. I love the way the Dynat's just seem to meld into the undercarraige. Can't wait for mine! Good luck

Thank you to all for the compliments on my headers. I am really crazy about keeping my car spotless. I have the lift in my garge and have spent many hours cleaning, polishing, etc. Almost every time I bring my car home from a drive I clean both the top and bottom. Then when I have nothing better to do (I'm retired), I go out, usually in the night, and polish for a while. Since I park my daily driver under my Vette I see the bottom as much as the top. Therefore, I want it to look super! I never take my car out in the rain and store it all winter long. That helps. Also, I only have just over 11,000 miles on my car and I've had it for over six years. I bought it new in Oct 1998.
