Personally - I would go to a 3.42 rear end and possibly a torque converter. If you do that - it won't be long before you're gonna be looking for new rear tires!

The 3.42's was probably the best mod I've done to my A4

Burlington? Maybe a bigger snowblower? If not, I vote for gears.

The first $1,000.00, I spent on wheels. If I had it to do over, I would have gone with GEARS!!

Gears 4 sure 342's are good, you might even want to get 373's..remember you going to need to re-tune your car and shift points, speedo etc...when you upgrade your gears.

I think my moms chevy celebrity station wagon had better gears than that poopy 273 gear

Go for the gears. You'll notice a big difference in the car with a set of something like 3.42's.

Biggest "bang for the buck" will be 3.42's

You will NOT believe the difference in your acceleration and hardly any noticable MPG difference!

I agree, get the gears!

The '04 painted spoke wheels are nice IMHO and you can really enhance the look just by painting wheel cap emblems. I've seen this done and it looks great IMO. Walmart carries a paint kit in the model car area that has all of the Corvette Flag colors for under $10. Just need patience and a steady hand.

Doubt you'd get the gears for $1000, unless you do it yourself.
'Course, $1000 won't buy much in the way of new wheels either.
How about a nice exhaust plate and some Euro taillights?
