I just bought a 99-C5. However, after few days of driving and having fun, my clutch is giving me problems. Currently, I not able to put the car into any gear. The clutch is soft (or non responsive) until almost pushed in all the way. Even then, I still can not get it gear. It sometimes stiffens up, but right now its dead.
Previously, in July someone asked about it, but not much response.
This is not an uncommon issue on the C5. The first thing I would recommend is that you bleed the clutch (link to procedure How to bleed the clutch on a C5 ). It's not a fun thing to do but it often helps with the limp clutch pedal syndrome. While you're at it, you can pull the inspection cover to gauge the general health of the clutch. Here's a open view of what it looks like. Of course, your torque tube will still be in place and hopefully you won't be dealing with header collectors.
