I've got alot of $$$ invested in my car...... is there a supplemental insurance program that will guarantee me at least a $50K return, above the base value of the car, in case the car is destroyed or stolen?
Same here. I've been searching to no avail. It seems my rarely driven 1999 is to new for any type of collector ins. and the fact it has N20 installed is a no no. It sucks!!
Sneed Insurance will insure any Corvette as long as there is no "racing equipment" on the car. I'm sure the supercharger, and 800rwhp would disqualify my car. Anyone else know of an insurance company that will cover just the mods done to the car?
Try Leland West 1800-237-4722 and ask for Holly (he is the owner) www.corvetteinsurance.com , Classic Insurance Agency 1-800-397-0765 (ask for Dan Yagodnik owner) www.classicins.com , Thum Insurance Agency 1-800-866-0777 Ask for Larry the owner or Sue) 1-800-866-0777 www.thuminsurance.com.
I have my Mallett with INA throught Thum (and they would have been more than happy to write your cars at values that included the mods)but I believe that they are leaving the market.
I think you can get a rider on your current policy that will cover anything that is not stock. My best friend was an insurance adjuster and he had to replace a $10,000 custom turbo engine in an Acura becasue the guy hydro locked the motor but had bought a supplement to cover his extra investment.
most policies are ACV, ACTUAL CASH VALUE,, unless additions/modifications are specifically excluded in the policy wording, whatever is on the car is covered at its ACV
I'm an adjuster for GEICO... if you call in and report/expalin your mods and the costs they will be underwritten on your policy and covered. Of course the rates will be increased/adjusted b/c the car is now worth more and a higher theft/accident risk. Another option is a company like Grundy who specializes in collecor cars and hotrods. They do agreed value insurance policies.
