I hate to keep relating stories ...

I took a trip yesterday afternoon, and came back late last night, down to my college for a basketball game ... roundtrip about 400 miles.
I stopped about 30 miles from here to get gas, where it's cheaper by far, and went in to get a cup of coffee. The person at the convenience store said that it was free since I'd bought gas. I've stopped there many times, and that was the first free cofee I've gotten there ... must be the Vette.
Down the road a ways a couple of kids passed me, turned and grinned with a "thumbs up".
I stopped again at another store, and a guy getting out of his car said "Man, I like that Vette!"
On the way back, I stopped for coffee (it was 10 pm by this time and I needed to stay awake), and two guys standing outside talked to me for 10 minutes about the car. One of them has a 77. They were off-duty policemen guarding the store. One said, "I bet it's fast". I told him I'd never had it above 55.

Another stop ... more coffee ... and a guy at the register said "Is that your nice ride out there?". Vettes get noticed, I suppose particularly in rural Alabama and Mississippi where they're not seen often.
BTW, I got 29.3 mpg on the trip, according to the DIC.

It's very
when someone takes a moment out of their busy day to say something nice to a perfect stranger......kind of gives me hope for this old world!
