Default Corsa Install...question.

Can you DIY a Corsa system on Rhino ramps.....The stock tube can be cut in this case! Actually I had bought a ZO6 Ti system from Ebay two weeks ago...seller didn't clearly state that exhaust had been cut from stock pipe near rear bend (near muffler) so a good exhaust shop has tried twice to get a good weld (with sleeve)and it has cracked both times (wrong welding technique I suppose).

Soooo...I decided a new Corsa would solve the problem. I have a date next Tues with a lift but thought I might get it done this weekend.

Next post will see if anyone wants a screaming deal on a ZO6 system in need of a welding job.

Definitely. I lifted the entire rear end, and set it down on ramps, or a stack of 4 - 2x12's.

How much for the Z06 system? I was thinking about trying to find a used one.
Thanks

While I have not done the process, I understand it can be tricky doing the job without a lift. I think the car has to be about 30+ inches high in the rear, which I think makes for a bad situation. The right side can be difficult to remove as compared to the left side. I would wait for a lift - my .02 cents.

Have fun and be safe.

My stock exhaust came off easier than the Corsa's went on...this was on a lift. I would wait, make it easier on you, and get it right.

Bioman, I installed two Corsa systems in the last few weeks on Rhino Ramps. Since your system has already been cut, there is plenty of clearance to install the Corsa on Rhino Ramps. I backed the car up on the ramps and had no problem. It is best, as the instructions suggest, to drop the sway bar to make things easier. In my opinion, however, there is not enough clearance to either remove or install a system on just ramps if the system has not been cut. I have read on these discussions that it takes around 3 ft. of clearance and I think that is accurate. I have the Corsa Indy and very pleased with the sound.

I just installed GHL this week in the driveway went real well except for the clamps that came with the system. Had the rear up 34" placed 1 ft 2x12 under tires and blocked the front wheels. Took longer trying to find clamps that would work. Take your time and it can be done it is good to have a helper.

GHL included some nice band clamps with my Bullets... What happened to yours?
