Default Cold weather problem?

I'm in central Texas and it has been cold here off and on for the last couple of weeks. Well we think 30-32 degrees is cold. Anyway, after sitting in the garage at night. I start the vette in the morning and notice that the DIC is on the mileage mode. Usally I don't even have it on at all. Also my fuel mileage readind sets back to zero by it's self. After I drive the car. It keeps doing this each time I shut it off when it's cold out. As soon as the weather warms up it stops. I don't get any codes and it runs fine. These just reset themselves when it's cold for no reason. Anyone seen this????? I have a Magred 02 m6

Its about time you southerners got some cold weather. Don't expect too much help from us here in the North, because our cars are stored. good luck

Sounds like the battery may be heading south. Up here it probably would have just out and out died.

Your battery is about to die. It can barely handle the load when you start it and your DIC is resetting to default settings.

When mine started doing that it tested fine but was starting to leak. When you replace yours check for acid on the tray under it and the wiring/electronics under that.

The consensus here is to replace your stock battery with a red-top.

Default Good advice

I think that you are right, I have noticed a slight drag starting. It is the original battery. Four years old. I will change it tomorrow. Thanks

I'd say it is a battery problem. Either your battery is being slowly drained by letting it sit without driving the car or the battery is about to go out.
