Default MAF Screen Removal

I did a forum search with no luck. I have heard it mentioned by some forum members. Is there HP increase? Any problems with doing it?

IMO I would leave it alone. Some people have reported pinning and knocking from running to lean and other have said it runs richer. I took mine out in my 99 LS1 Camaro and had no problems, but I left it alone in the vette.

Shouldn't be a problem since the Z06 doesn't have screen

I removed mine and added the Halltech MAF ends and cleaned up the plastic supporting the wires (do not do the plastic work if you have never done it before). And yes it will make a difference (not sure how much in HP, but then again I did the entire Halltech install at the same time). I did mine with the complete install of the Halltech snorkle system several years ago. Been running great. Getting a good tune is highly recommended but not necessary. When I added LT headers the car went slightly Lean at WOT. Normal closed loop driving was fine no Knock retard. Open Loop WOT needed to be tuned.

Just thinking about it, if you are not going to do the rest of the intake, such as a Halltech or Vari Ram, just leave the screen it won't be worth it.

Don't mess with it, there are little or no gains to be had and you also run the possibility of surging problems afterwards.
