I live in California. I don't normally have to go with out driving my Z for so long. The recent rains have kept me from my baby since Christmas. Anyone in so cal experiencing the same withdrawals, or do you drive in bad weather?
I feel your blues...it's not fun driving the Z in the rain if it's just like any other car. In fact I must admit in the rain my Explorer 4x4 is more fun and safer. Waiting for the dry weather to return so I can do a few 0 to 60's!
I am up in Norcal, and experiencing the same weather as you. Although I do drive in the rain, it's not the same as nice weather. My withdrawal symptoms have been mild depression, boredom, lack of adrenaline rushes, and restlessness. My doctor prescribed some Vicodon so I can sleep through this whole storm and wake up when it gets sunny again.

I here you..Im in norcal too and have a QS Z06 that could be your brother car as I also have a painted rear lower fascia......I drive it everday but its not as fun.......
Apparently you folks have never hear of......" R O A D S A L T, C I N D E R S and S A N D"!...the main reasons this Ohio guy keeps his Z in the garage most of the winter!
You mean we can't drive in the rain? omg! I've been driving mine every day. Yeah, it's more fun when dry, but like others say, take it easy (especially with the SC tires), and stay out of the puddles. Huhhmmm, seems my mom told me to stay out of the puddles too. I guess I learned.
I do respect it though! Hey try living in the Northeast. Ever hear of Road salting, now that I have a concern with. If we even get a dusting of snow or ice up, the DOT blast the roads with tons of salt. Not good for a car. Talk about a fever, its stays parked in the garage. Last month couldn't take it any more and went out, felt good. Spending at least an hour in the cold giving it a chassis bath using a garden hose does not. Count your blessing and get out there and lower that fever.
I been driving her everyday in the rain. I have even forded a few streams here on the base the last couple of days. 2nd gear and nail it, make sure the moron in fornt doesn't stop to gauk at all the moving water.
Now that the rain has stopped I see I'm going to be VERY busy for about 4 days detialing her back to normal. After just 2 weeks of this weather I'm going to have to go full out wash, clay, polich, wax, everything.
I should of garaged her and drove the damn Iroc. I kick myself.
anytime, anywhere, any place. except the snow. vettes suck in the snow unless you have a bigggggg open parking loy. no burnt rubber smell and kind to your tires!!! i'm in nc. i moved mine just hours before the salt truck came. left here sitting until all the bad white stuff was gone. dt's and withdrawals because of rain?!?!?! never. just more opportunity to learn to control that happy rear end!!!
Everytime I get in my Z it's a new experience.I don't like to let anything sit too long.If it snows and they use salt and sand I wait for a good rain storm and that washes all the debris to the side of the road and then I'm back cruising.
I like it when I can't drive my car because I am on vacation or sick and sitting in the house for days. When I get back into the car everything feels so new and tight!
