Default Installing BSM

I need the vertical distance from the beginning of the horizontal line on the rocker panel (back of door) to the rear tip of the BSM. I also need the distance from the edge of the door to the BSM (front and rear) I hope this makes sense. Thanks!

Hi. You might try a search. Some time ago a member posted the exact figures for which you are looking.

My be easier to work from the front. I don't have the exact measurements, but the front piece in front of the door is centered in the gill. From there if you line it all up and make sure it is level it should be pretty close. (A lot easier to take them off than put them on...)

Of course it's easier to take them off than put them on. Who'd ever want to put them back on and why?

OK I plead guilty it was me but I can't find the post.
Here they are again.
Bottom edge of door to bottom edge of BSM
Front 10-5/8" (27centimeters)
Rear 9-7/16 (24centimeters)
Front edge of door to edge of BSM 1/4" + (Better bigger than smaller)
Rear edge of door to tip of BSM 1/8"
Hope this helps.
mrgil
I think I would do a layout line and check it for level on my own car before I attached it permanently.
And the layout line should be the center if the BSM
You all know they're tapered.

I'm getting ready to take mine off (if I can get the nerve up) pretty soon. I've heard that fishing line and a hair-dryer make it feasible to get rid of them without making a mess.

Hope that's true...

mrgil,
Thanks! I did the search also. I guess we're the only one that like BSM.

O Contrare (I think thats French for "Now wait a minute I didn't say that")
I have the BSM's and I hate 'em I'm a big chicken $hit to take 'em off.
Lets not get into the BSM/No BSM debate again!
Good luck

I've been on this forum for more than two years and it was being debated back then and probably was long before I was a noob. IMHO the car looks much better without them.
