Those are super nice, In fact I wanted those, but chose to go with the Corbeau Forza's for their price. In fact I think they are some of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in! Good luck with your installation!
Cobra, you'll love the Roadsters. You can ene remove the bottom cushions for competition and get the true race seat feel.
I did the DIY bracket thing, with reasonable success. The challenge is getting the seat LOW enough in the car. Right now, mine sits 2in above the floor and that is still too high. You almost have to have the butt of the seat on the carpet. Also, you have to figure out the rake angle you want, distance from pedals etc. (assuming you did a fixed mount, like I did).
I am debating whether to just do a complete replacement of the stock seats, or be able to bolt the OEMs in if a long trip comes up.
Do NOT be tempted to reverse-engineer the stock rails to your Sparco. I wasted a lot of time on this, only to figure out that the stock rails are REALLY crappy even when they do not rock and the crappiness of them is just magnified by the stiff Sparco. Also, the seat wins up way too high.
You came all the way up to Sterling to pick up your seats????
Post some pictures after the install. I want something to keep my **** in the seat during DEs.
Yah... being 6'4" 230 and seeing as the seats are $1000.00 I wanted to sit in them and feel them out before officially buying them. OG let me buy them a week+ ago so I could get in at Sparco's 2004 pricing then held them for me, and if I didn't fit/didn't like them I'd havenever had to buy them.
TTRotary... it was your post about all the seats that got me clued into the Roadsters... I'm going to use a fixed mount first to see what kind of clearance I have. My friend builds custom lowrider/sport trucks so he has all the metal fab tools I'd ever need.
Cool Cobra. Sounds like you are set from the fab standpoint. I'm 5 in shorter than you and 215, so you'll really want these right on the carpet to get clearance with the helmet, especially with the cushions in.
One other thing, take it easy on the seat bolt torque - they are 8mm x 1.25 BTW - Sparco says only hand tight. I used lock washers and tightened just enough to flatten the ring.
Sweet Brian. How did you do sunday at Pungo, i was in the last heat so did not get a chence to talk to you after you ran. Iknow you sounded good out there
The ZR-1 felt good out there and times were ok for street tires and street alignment

!
I got the hardware sets from OG... it has all the necessary bolts, but thanks for the tip on th torque!
Tony... I think I did ok.. my best was 38.000, but I never really looked at how that stacked up. The Z-R1 looked great ou there, I was working the course... it really squats nice and looks flat in the turns. You're prpbably never getting into the power out there w/ the 7200 rpm redline.
Nice, what is that frame made of? I had a Sparco Torino in my Z28 with fabbed brackets. I sat so low that I couldn't see my fenders despite being 5'11", BUT my helmet didn't hit anything.

go to Harbar.net
they have the best mounting kit....also be careful with those seats, don't push on them too hard when exiting the car or they wll crack.
