i was looking into painting the hood liner... i noticed it was quite dirty in one area this may sound silly but is that normal??? do you have to take them off and clean them from time to time??
Do a search on hoodliners and you'll find tons of posts about cleaning/painting hoodliners. They are simply to pop off and although it sounds a bit time consuming, doing some painting is very doable.....or you could go all out and pick up a Paula's Hoodliner.

They will get dirty over time and if you get any water in there, they will get some ugly white stains on them. The hood seal helps keep the mess down, but occasionally you may have to lightly brush the liner off.
They can be painted and there have been many threads on what others have used to do this. Good luck with your project.
Jrose, I'm in Tulsa, nice to see OK on here. Your hood liner looks great by the way. did you send her your liner to be painted or get a whole new one? And how do I get ahold of Paula? Thanks.

I know a lot of folks have taken them out and went at the liner with compressed air and a very soft brush. Be careful with the brush - it's really easy to break the fibers loose.
Once it's reasonably clean, you can paint it with flat black spray paint (usually several coats until it soaks in). Now you have a sufficiently clean surface to start painting the emblem with your Testors model paint pens (or if you're really sophisticated and talented, an air brush).
Another option is just buy a new hoodliner and start from there, or the best of all - get a piece of art from Paula H! Her work is absolutely incredible!
