Default Val 1 Hardwire

Just finished hard wiring a Val 1 Christmas present from my Wife.

Used the suppled wire connector that came with the V1. Wired it into the acc supplied pigtail under the pass side foot well. Ran the wires up behind the plastic door edge trim and across under the windshield trim. Mounted the V1 just into the lower edge of the shaded part of the windshield. also removed the ashtray and mounted a concealed display behind the little door. No one smokes in a Vette anyway Works slick.
Credit goes to the many threads laying out this install for us. They made it a very easy install.

Congrats and every time it goes off you will be thanking Mr. Valentine.

I have mine mounted to the rear view plugged into the mirror, but I like your way too....

I've got to get mine hardwired also. Don't like the wires hanging down. As soon as the weather breaks I'm sure it will get closer to the top of my to do list. Congrats on the install

I hardwired my V1 recently too. I didn't like any of the places that I had seen the concealed display mounted, and after being followed by folks who could see my radar detector one too many times, I decided it was time to get the concealed display hooked up.

I finally found a place I really liked but had not ever seen or heard of any one using. I removed the ash tray from the spot under the climate control head in the center dash/console and using the supplied velcro mounted it to the top of the ash tray space. I tried mounting it on the bottom, but I had trouble seeing it in some gears. When I tried the upper position it worked very well and I am very happy with it still.

I figured the concealed display should be concealed, right? I can even close the flip down panel that covers the ash tray and lighter if I want too. I have my V1 mounted on the passenger side visor clip with the mount from Great Lakes Trophy. I like it better than under the mirror because is completely hidden from outside the car but still is in a great spot for good front and rear coverage. No exposed wires, and no body tail gating me anymore to watch my detector!

It's not a V1, but setup is the same along with the extra ashtray setup.
