Removed the fuse panel cover in the pass side foot well. Could not get the cover back on. The center screw on the cover would not line up with the nut part in the fuse box. Turned the cover over and it went on easily. But, The words FUSE PANEL on the cover are now upside down. Did not notice if this is how it was when I first took it off.
Anyone else out there remember seeing theirs. I can,t belive GM would print the cover this way. But?
thers only one way the fuse cover goes on the cut out spot on the side goes to the front
never noticed if mine was upside down
but i cant remember the last time i got clowned showing off my fuse box cover when someone went hey fuse panel is upside down
actually the fuse panel and the bcm / pcm unit was probably mounted on a plate together where they both could be bolted in
or the simple fact of it was going to be covered by a carpeted panel was probably of little concern to gm
just my 2 cents
but does it really bother you that much

I feel your pain. I d!c!<ed around with mine for 45 minutes until I tried flipping it over - then it went on no problem. And yes, the words are upside down.
I think I made the same observation last summer when I was in there. I too took longer than it should have trying to get it back on. Probably for the same reason. So your not alone.
i had no problem with mine when i took it off
of course i pay no mind to the writing
the big rubber flap that i had to pull mine out from under gave it away
unless the fuse panel is different in 2001 i really dont know how you did it one side of the panel is gone its just a big hole on one end
oh well to each is his own
patches exactly what did you use for the accesory fuse tap
also is it switched power
just wondering because i used #22(not used in the manual fuse diagram) in the fuse panel for my switched power it just a prong on one side and blank on the other
no wires to cut and what not
just wondering what you used and why

Through '03, GM provided a spare electrical connection batch of wires for switched accessory power. That's what I used to connect my Valentine-1. In '04, they stopped providing that. I, too, found out that fuse #22 was switched power, and used it for my V1 in my '04.
Also, the words on the fuse cover are still upside-down for '05.
