I recently added the aluminum foiled insulation to the interior (Thanksgiving time) and now that I look back I started to see the ABS/TCS codes and lites on the dash. I am also getting the NO COMM codes as well. I spoke with Bill Curlee and some other forum members on the grounds and connections. my post was in the Tech section.
HAS ANYONE else started to see unexplained codes after you installed the insulation in the car. I did the driver/passenger/rear storage. I also did the wheel wells but don't think there was any wiring in that area.
Just looking to see if there is some similaritys occuring. thanks for any suggestions. Tom

I do not think the two are related just coincidence.. Many of us have installed foil insulation.. over the last few years , this is the first time someone related loss of traction control and other codes because of insulation.. I think you have to look elsewhere.. Bill Curlee is a great resource
i know youre reciever is in the driverside rear of the car, for the tire pressure sensors and for your key fob. I've done two cars so far and no random codes. Best of luck to you!
stangkiller18, it was a fun day at daytona, enjoyed meeting many members and putting faces to forum names. I will contact you about the painting after this ABS issue is resolved.
Evil-Twin, thanks...I just thought since someone else suddenly had some codes pop up that there might be an issue with the foil.
Maybe I need to look at any connection points under the insulation...sure hate to undo it all just to look. Anyone have some diagram that locates position of any plug connectors for the harness in the car. just some random thoughts.
stock tires, stock car all the way around. as indicated, about thanksgiving started to get the intermittent ABS/TCS and some ride control and SES alarms and regularly no comms after the insulation install. Was wondering if there were some connections I might have moved doing the insulation that could be causing them. I will be laying it up this weekend to get under it and review it before I decide on gutting it. I need to see if the manuals have any wiring connector locations for the interior to maybe minimize the gutting process. I may contact stutz since he just did his and see what he recalls on the wiring points. wish I had taken gutted pics but just did not think of it before the install, only after of the finished process. oh well. thanks for the reply. tom
Tom, the onlything i can think of that would cause the no comm's would be your reciever in the driver side rear of the car just above your wheel well, it's supposedly very delicate, i was sideswipped and it damaged mine.
Stu and i did both the cars in my garage here, i've got a lot of pictures on my website of the frost king mod, and a few of them are of the car un-insulated. Hope you get this figured out! www.myvette.us
