Default Halltech Stinger Question

Has anyone had problems with the Halltech Stinger System setting codes. If so how did you fix the code problem.
Thanks, tmickey

I was tripping codes when I first installed it and knew the car was sensitive to un-metered air. Reinstalled it a double checked again, no problem since. 01 Z

Some 02-04 Z06's do throw codes when any aftermarket intake is installed. It seems to be the luck of the draw. I just received mine from the GP held on the forum and am looking forward to putting it on.

The code issue is easily taken care of with a tune, or some have installed a MAF out of an 01 since it is screened and the newer ones are not. The code is caused by the increase in air volume and the way the MAF reads it. The screen seems to calm things down a bit internally so that the increased turbulance isn't an issue. If you have not done enough mods to warrant a tune, I would suggest picking up a used screened MAF.

Good luck...and do enjoy the extra oomph!

I have an 04 MY Z06 and it has thrown ZERO codes since Blackwing installation. Due to the facts of ease of install, the Stinger known to throw codes and the Blackwing/Stinger very close on HP, I went with the Blackwing.
