Rear view mirror/compass
Are there any replacement rear view mirrors with compass available for my 2000? What is the difficulty of installation? I am new to this board (this is my third post), Everyone has been very responsive with good info. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks Duds

Yes there are replacement mirrors you can get with compass (and usually auto dim as well). Gentex is the company GM gets their mirrors from and they are not too difficult to install. In most cases I think the hardest part of the swap is replacing the existing mirror wiring harness with a new one. You could also check with Gene at Karshop or other used parts sources - maybe you can find a used one that is cheaper than the new ones - they seem to run between $150 and 200....

Hunt thw down on ebay, get a gm mirror with a compass and the wiring harness. The power hooks up the same way.

The problem is, you need map light to light up the front of the car. If you can live without the light then you can pick up a mirror for dirt
