Default chrome etched caps

i bought a set of design specialty chrome etched caps from another cf member. i got all the caps except for the windshield washer tank cap. i figured i could get one from chuck at performance design specialies after i seen him at carlisle however after 4 months of trying with them they still dont have them and you cant even get in touch with chuck anymore. creative engine covers may make them in the future i hope. i was wondering if i bought a chrome cap from eckler/mid america maybe i could get it etched with the washer tank emblem from someone. does anyone know where i can get the cap etched because i really want a complete set. any help will be appreciated thanx brad

If you get one from Ecklers or MAD I dont think you will be happy with the quality....from what I have seen from those places they are stamped stainless...not as nice as what you have.
But if you get one you can take it to a airbrush artist or someone who can do media blasting.
Trying to find someone that will do just on ewill be tough....not really worth it to them. IMO
I should start making these...at least once a week someone on here is looking for a set

Jim, We both think that you going into the chrome etched cap business is a great idea. We just saw this and the two set of Design Specialty caps that we had, went to you and and brad 6285!! The set of caps we now have are even more rare. I think there are 3 sets in existence. I'll have to ask Noel next time I see him.

I have talked to Bill at Creative Engine Covers in December, and he told me they should be tooled up this month to produce the etched caps.

I e-mailed an inquiry to him Monday, but have not received a reply yet. You should call him, too. The more requests we get, the more motivated they will be to get them done.

As for Chuck at PDS, I gave up a long time ago, and I would advide you to do the same.

Any way to get a hold of him?

I am sending back the billet caps I just got from Eckler...Missing set srews, poor polishing...I give up.

If you do not want to post his email can you PM it to me?

My suggestion is to be patient and Creative Engine Covers (CEC) will come through in a few weeks.

I've seen plenty of their products and I am confident that the quality will be good.

Steve, I made it out of billet aluminum. That was last winters big item "to do". I wish now I had made 5 because it would have been just as cheap as a "one off". Chrome is by Advanced Plating in Nashville TN.
They are slow as smoke off poop but when you get their products you will not be unhappy. Used to do work for Design Specialties.

Thanks Jim, guess I will have to be creative. I'm curious...what would it cost to make one or a few of them to sell.

You know guys, lots of people out there seem to knock us off., don't seem to have an original bone in their body. Who cares, this creative guy just knocked us off., we will always be the best, FYI when you do the nickel stuff you get the nickel stuff., as the word goes., "IT IS WHAT IT IS"., We have the chrome caps and the C6 ones as well., isn't it funnt at all the naysayers, but whose stuff still wins shows hands down. See ya at the top !!

OK, you talk alot lets see what you can do.

I want a complete set including clutch of C5 chromed and etched caps, just as Design Speialties use to produce.

I want cost and delivery time.

Here is your chance to put up the goods.
