Woke up this morning to -5 degrees. Skies were clear, roadways clear, looked a good time to fire the Vette up and "stretch her legs" for awhile.
Started the thing up and immediately the digital display indicates "Low Tire Pressure" on all four tires. All the while, this is ALL the display will show. I can't change it, or shut it off. It won't even tell me what the actual tire pressure is!
Is this the way this thing is supposed to work?
Oh, and by the way, the Corvette drove and handled like a dream. Tires were a little hard, easy to turn over. Took about 15 miles to finally get the oil temp above 180, but it sure felt good to get out and about.
Hitting the reset button will clear all error messages from the DIC.
The funny thing is when it is really cold I don't get that message mine says "You got shrinkage"
I think you were born with shrinkage todd...atleast that's the word on the street....
I got this from reliable sources too... those Canadian hookers....

When I pressed the reset button, it hesitated for a couple seconds and went back to flashing in sequence LFront low pressure...RFront low pressure...LRear low pressure...RRear low pressure...over and over.
It renders the rest of the display inoperative. It didn't quit until about 10 minutes of driving, the tire pressures got up above 26 psi.
You people may think it trivial, but I found it to be quite annoying.

Press the reset button to the right of the guage cluster on the dash. It should clear that message. Then you can scroll through to the tire pressure settings - you will need to be moving in the car to get a reading. You may also want to check the air pressure in your tires with a good guage - you may be low on air pressure.
The cold air will drop your tire pressure below 25 psi which will set off the warning....add some air and it will go away. Try to keep them at 30 psi cold. As far as the annoyance. It's meant to be. It is there to keep you from driving on flat tires which could be dangerous. With the runflats there is almost no difference to the feel of the tire with dangerously low pressure due to the stiffness of the sidewalls. It sounds like it did it's job.
Cold will decrease the tire pressure. If you're tires are running marginal pressure and it gets that cold it's probably decreased below the safe level. I believe it's 23 or 24 lbs. Just put some air in the tires and the error msg should go away.
