Default SS inserts on a Black C5

I've seen a few pics posted on the Forum, but would appreciate someone posting a rear shot w/inserts. .... Wondering if, on a black C5 they take away from the look more than enhance. Thanks

Here's a quick shot I had. Not the best example but it might give you an idea.

I think they really set off the tail end. Hell, even my wife noticed them.

Where can I purchase these from (would be more interested in the red inserts for my black coupe)...? What's involved in the install? Are these actually stickers or plastic/metals pieces that you fit inside the indents? Thanks in advance.

Prep is critical when you install. Clean thoroughly with alcohol (not Jim Beam either). If you don't prep right they will fall out soon after install. Good Luck!

SS inserts on a black car look great, especially if you have other shiny pieces on the car like chrome/high polished wheels and/or a high polished exhaust. As long as your prep the area well (i.e., clean and remove all wax where the letters will be placed), they should stay put.

As for the red inserts, they look very good too (black and red is a nice color combo). The letters in red that I have seen were acrylic (brakelight red is the color I am thinking of) and also look very good.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have two questions.

1. Z06-Jim, where did you get your hood and trunk liners done? All I can say is AWESOME!!

2. Jackalope, are those the Phantom tail light and license plate frame?

I purchased my inserts from ss inserts, but living in Ohio it hasn't been warm enough to put them on yet, but plan to do so as soon as my GHLs show up and I put my black FRC in the shop. Great pics.

Those are the Altec Phantom louvers on Jackalope. I have them also. A little more trouble at wash and wax time, but they add a nice touch to the back. I opted not to go with the license/backup lights frame.

I also have the ssinserts but haven't put them in yet. Appreciate everyone's photos!
