Default Vacuum leaks?

Hi All,

Hope ya'll had a great Christmas and New Year.
I finally stored my girl in the garage after driving her up until Christmas in Montana! We finally got our snow.
Anyway...she is making a swishing noise under the hood which starts just moments after I start her up. along with that is a quiet whistle in the cockpit. It isn't loud or anything but I am aware of both noises, not being there before. I have been told by a few that they suspect a vacuum leak. Can anyone relate to this and tell me just what it is and if I should be concerned while driving, (probably not until spring thaw,) now?
Also, there is nothing wrong with the perforrmance and the gauges are still A-ok.

Usually it's the accordian rubber connector that comes loose - but your car should bog and miss at speed if that was the case. You said that performance was normal, so I guess it's not that.

A stetascope is a good way to find leaks as is anything that produces smoke (fog machine or something like that).

Otherwise, I'm tapped for answers.

Good luck

EG

I've used a piece of old hose and placed one end at my ear and gone around the engine listening with the other end. Works great.
