Z06 TI's Installed...Initial thoughts
I got TI's at a local speed shop, they are off an 02 I believe. I got them for $350 installed, but he got to keep my stock system. That doesn't sound too bad. What do you all think?
My initial impression:
1. WOW they are light compared to the stock ones. I was blown away by the weight difference.
2. THEY LOOK GREAT! I got the tips all shined up so they looked like polished SS. Almost a mirror shine. They look really good, even better than I had hoped.
I would post some pics but I don't have anywhere to host them.
3. Noticable deeper tone at idle, and a bit more growl as the revs climb.
4. They do sound better than stock while driving, not too much louder though but there is a difference.
5. A slight reduction in resonance at 1500 RPM.
Overall, I am happy.
...now I need headers...

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Fit, Finish, Looks are great - all the exhaust tips line up correctly - no rattles or squeaks - should be, as was designed for C5 cars.
Sound - at idle is more aggressive than stock C5 system - but, not obtrusive.
Sound - at cruise is more aggressive than stock C5 system - but, not obtrusive - depending on the road surface - run flat tires can still be heard over the exhaust sound.
Sound - at WOT is a lot more aggressive than stock C5 system - but, not obtrusive - at least not from the sound heard from inside car.
No snap, crackling or pop on down shifting with MN6.
No resonance inside car.
To me it sounds like a Z06 - and, is much better sounding than a stock C5 exhaust system.
Don't think any more power HP (just sounds like that) - much lighter in weight than stock system.
In my opinion - this is the exhaust system that should have come from the factory on all C5's.
All year Z06 exhausts have same part number - assume they are all the same.
I had my Chevrolet dealer install them - worth every bit of the $50.00 they charged and I saved the stock system without cutting.
This Z06 system fulfilled all my needs - better looking, better sound and no resonance inside the car being the big ones.

Ouch! It's 4 screws on the flages and 4 nuts on the muffler hangers. It's 10 minutes work. I swapped mine yesterday. I'll do em for a living at $100.00 a car!
