So... I am the 1st car at an intersection... red light. "Pull Key Wait 10 Secs" shows up on my display. Light turns green and I begin to let go the clutch but the the car stalls. I start it... try again and the cars stalls. Then finally the 3rd time it creeps along and I pull over. I pull the key out... wait a min or two. Then start the car and continue on my way with everything functioning normal. What's the problem? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
it's your column lock, a lot of corvette owners have experienced this. there is a recall to fix it but it does'nt work. Best thing to do is get a column lock bypass and forget about it. Sometimes it will lock the column to where you can't move it at all and you have to have it towed to the dealer.

If the recall doesn't work what's the point of having it in the 1st place?
Is this happens to all C5s? What about 04 with A4? Should I get a CLB as well?
You are fine. It was taken out in the '03's. If your steering wheel can still turn once the key is removed from the ignition. You have nothing to worry about.

Are you saying all 04's do not have CL's...even MN6's???

Whoa!! It's not necessarily the Column Lock. This message can occur for several reasons, and is very unlikely to be related to Column Lock while driving. Even if it was, your description implied your steering was not locked as you pulled over - if this was CL related the car would not stall in the unlocked position.
It sounds more like an ignition switch problem that somehow triggered the PassKey fuel cutoff.
Car cutting off like that isn't the colum lock directly, its the pass-key bull**** (little pellet thing on the key). That little pellet is just a resistor, if the computer doesn't sense the right resistance it'll cut off the fuel when the car gets over 1mph, ask me how I know...
I sanded the pellet lightly with some sand paper and cleaned the connector inside the ignition switch as best I could with some contact cleaner and it's been working good ever since. Before, it was messing up 2-3 times everytime I started the car before I'd actually be able to get moving--talk about embarassing!!

My 98 did that when I got it and it was not the colum lock that had already been taken care of.
Come to find out my key was worn out and the passkey chip was not making contact with the tumbler. So 230 bucks latter and two new keys and new tumbler I have not seen that message again.
Except for one time I tried to get in my car and puth the key in really fast and tried to drive away in a hurry then it did it. I guess it has to get a good read on that resistor in the chip.
FYI
Also for what it is worth :
All 97 and 98 Owners should have gotten the recal for the colum lock bypass by now. It is like a 200 dollar fix but it is free with the recall.
Mine was locked up and they even towed it for free !

I agree, this very well could be the ignition key acting up. I had this happen to my '99 - cleaned the resistor pellet and all worked fine. May want to try that first. However, if you don't have a column lock bypass installed, you may at least want to consider one.
Column lock! Column lock It's like Chicken Little yelling the "Sky is falling!!"
Just clean the pellet on your keys
Your sig doesn't say what tranny you have If it's the MN6 get a CLB and don't bother with the recall...or if the A4 get the recall done so the lock's removed and rest easy at night. Just because you got the "Pull key..." doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your column lock.

Let's not jump to conclusions.
The SAME exact thing happened at an intersection. Try cleaning the key like others have said. Never happened again. Although be on the look out for the dreaded service column lock and get the clb before it’s too late.
