Do you guys think $37.5K is a good price for an 04 Z06 in excellent shape with kinda high 9k miles? The car has been well taken care of and origional tires look pretty darn good on tread. Thanks.

The Denver paper has one with 2400 mi @$39000. Whether what you have is a good deal or not probably depends on the kind of miles put on it. I thought some forum members knew of some new Z16s in Michigan or some place that were in that price range.
Thanks, it seems like a fair price but has a few factors I was concerned about.
Seems the origional owner bought the car in March 04 with 370 miles on it for his wife who had cancer. The 2nd owner who is also an older gentleman told me he sold it when she passed and that's how he got it. I'm to assume they took some road trips and that's what racked up the miles, and was told I could contact him as well but I don't think I want to open any wounds with alot of questions. The 2nd owner traded it on a Nissan 350Z convertible and said he wanted an automatic as well. The Nissan dealers only had this car a day and I'm all over it of course pending mechanics approval. The car's in my garage as we speak. (or type)
The car is in awesome shape other than from what I can tell is a slight exhaust rattle under acceleration. I'm taking it to the base today to put it on a lift and check it out.
Considering all these stories check out, now what do you guys think about me being a 3rd owner on a 1 year old car? Should it be worth less? I've already haggled them down from 40k to 37.5k.
Thanks for all the help, this site's awesome.

IMO, run a Carfax and check out the underside and have a trusted wrench take a peek and if all good.....go for it! 9K miles is nothing and assuming it's not a flood car or salvaged, etc. I personnaly think the price is good. Now $35K would be GREAT...........! :>) Good luck!
We always want a better deal. If the car is as nice as you say and you really like and want it then it's value is in the eye of the beholder. There's a little over 2 years left on the warranty and if the tire don't need replacing I'd say it's a good deal.
There will always be a "better" deal out there or someone that known's someone that can get you the same car for thousands less.
My advice, life is too short to wait for the "perfect" deal.
Just to give you an idea of prices, I got my local dealer down to $39K for my new Z16. There is one dealer here that still has one, I drove by the other day. I think he would only go down to somewhere around $41. Just letting you know for comparision.
Someone elses loss is someone elses gain. Miles are about right for a daily driver, under full warranty. price is real good, unles the car was in a serious accident, I don't see any exposure here!
CONGATS AND BEST OF LUCK - ENJOY

Those dealers must be desperate! I have not seen a new untitled Z16 go for under $42,900 unless buyers have all the GM discount plans.
The Central Coast of Calif has a different story. Used 03 Z06 with 10k and Silver in color-dealer is asking 45K. New C-6 auto-5K bump sticker. (i told them they were way off base but they have sold every one that has come in)
Things just seem to be a little more expensive in Calif-even the KBB shows higher values for Calif cars -based on zip code. I have not checked Calif vs Az, or Texas but we are more expensive vs the east and mid west.

I see people ask for advice/opinions on prices for Z06's, and almost everytime memebers are saying to go for a better/lower price, or even low ball people and see if they will sell. All that is awesome if your the buyer, but each one of us will at one time try and sell our Z06, and, when you can't sell it for what you want, let alone sell it for what it is worth, mainly because the possible buyer is getting advice to offer thousands less then what you are trying to sell it for, lets see how happy you will feel then.
So go ahead and keep giving advice like, "thats too high", or "i got mine for thousands cheaper", or "offer him 5k less". All that will do is make it worse for us in the long run. Enjoy my .02
I'm sure there's always someone who's gonna get a better deal. The particular Vette I'm looking at given the area probobly won't last long on the lot even for 39k. Everyone's opinions have helped me out and as long as I can get a fairly good deal I'll sleep good at night knowing I didn't pay "way too much".
I can see why the Nissan dealers wanting to get this car off their lot. If I would have went there to buy a 350Z and saw and drove the Z06, I would have crossed the import off my list even if I didn't buy that Vette.
if you can talk to the previous owner(s) then do so....you find out a lot about general care and why they sold etc....plus you generally find out if something "strange" ever happened. Previous owners generally very truthful, especially if traded to a dealer....give them a call and put your mind at rest....good luck.
A friend of mine owns a dealership in the Milwaukee Wi area and this weekend they sold an 02 Z06 in great shape and 13,800 miles for $34,500(list was $36,500). It seems to depend on car condition and car location..Also noticed that 04 vette auto roadster, triple black and loaded is used with 5k miles and going for $44,900. I know the dealer(used car manager) and they will not sell it for under $42,000. He told that they are seeing 02-04 vette pricing leveling off and raising slightly from only a few months ago. Again, this is in Wisconsin...

Took the car to my Chevy dealer today and spoke with the speciallized "Vette" mechanic to check it out before I officially bought it. Got him to test drive the Vette with me riding along. He then noticed the oil change sticker and come to find out he serviced the car last. He said the previous owner was an older man who was very nit-picky about his car. Took very good care of it. Mechanic's also ordering a whole new rear exhaust because of the rattle internal to the muffler. Great guy all around.
Done deal, I'm an official Z06 owner!

Don't fear too much for what people on here say about prices. First off this site is for the hard core vette enthusiast... IMHO, this is the worst place to sell a vette. Just have a look at your local paper for ads, classifieds. The prices for vettes are thousands more than you will see on here.. Will they get the asking price? Probably not... but it won't be rock bottom like some let them go for on here. Some of the prices people mention on here they paid for their vette is either totally false or they bought a wrecked lemon. We usually never get to see both sides of the story. Some just like to brag they bought the sweetest ride on the planet for $11.95 , Yet if you looked at the car, you might think the price was way too high. When I sold my 99 FRC, I listed it on here and was offered an average of $10K less then what I actually got for it when I sold it thru another site. This is a great place to sell a modified vette as most buyers on here understand the mods and their worth. Of course there are always exceptions...
remember that there are many non-enthusiasts that want a vette and will never check the forums.

If you want it go for it. I am the third owner of a high mile (18K) 03 Z06. I got it when it was only 8 months old for $36.8K. This deal sounds better than mine. 9K miles is a drop in the bucket. You are buying a car that can go well over 100K miles.
OOOPS, didn't see your last post. Congratulations. Now get on the throttle and enjoy.
