Default Facotry HP Ratings?

What is the difference between factory bhp ratings and fwhp ratings? I know drivetrain losses are to be expected, but isn't the C5 supposed to have 345 bhp? So is this number at the flywheel? or at the rear wheels? I see people post their base numbers all the time and I'm quite confused when trying to compare to my rwhp.

The newer C5's had 350 horsepower at the flywheel.

Depending on whether it is a stick or auto you can figure anywhere from a 15-20% drivetrain loss.

Any numbers that you see people post are rear wheel horsepower number. A stock C5 will usually dyno anywhere from 290hp-310hp depending on stick/auto and which dyno is used.

All factory HP ratings are at the fly wheel. The rear wheel hp ratings are something the hot rod shops use and vary dramaticly from dyno to dyno.

Manufactrer hp = fwhp. In the C5, is 345-350fwhp.

Chassis dynos measure rwhp, which is typically 15-18% less than fwhp.

Typical C5 rwhp #'s are in the 290-310 ballpark.

The factory numbers are at the flywheel (i.e., 345). A normal C5 with 345 at the flywheel will have anywhere from 295-305 at the rear wheels.
