I got in an accident and i got a new rocker panel and a Tigershark Front Bumper and was wondering if when i bring my car into get a new paint job should i install the body parts myself or would it be easier to let the body shop put it on.
let the body shop do it...they'll need to edge them before putting them on or your paint won't come out right.
If you're looking to save money, you can put them on for test fit...then take them to be painted, then put them back on yourself. If your car is a hard color to match, this won't work as panels will need to be blended. Still, if it's an easy color, it could work.
Precision fit and shaping of the panel edges to match the factory panels is part of the body shop job. Its not terribly hard to do, just needs to be done. It is possible to DIY to save a few $$$$ on the total cost. If you have the skills, go for it.
