Recently I've noticed that the 3-5 dings that go off when you put the key in the ignition sounds like the speaker (as if there were one) is blown. I'm getting disheartened between this new issue, the rocking seats, cooing A/C (yes, cooing like a pigeon), rattling windows and whistling intake.
This "blown dinger" makes the car sound really cheap, more like a Chevette than a Corvette. Anyone ever heard of this?

Rocking Seat - http://js-x.com/robbs/ken/vette1/
A/C Cooing - no idea .. need further desc.
rattling window - check bolt behind reflector on door, make sure it's tightened down .. also if there is an air noise from your top, it need adjustments.
whistling intake - possible air leak? would depend on intake setup.
Thanks for the info. I should have mentioned I've tried some of these already. The rocking seat fix did not appear to work on my passenger seat. I have done the tip in adjustment but they still rattle and there are air leaks. The whistling intake I am referring to can be fixed here: http://www.corvetteforum.net/c5/c5tech/ but I have yet to fix that either.
There are noted fixes for all my gripes (even the dinger apparently), I just need to do them. It's just getting to be a bit much (and I like working on cars). To boot my nitrous is on the blink.

12stepvette, thanks for the info on the speaker. I guess now I have another reason to pull my cluster besided painting the bezels.
Its just a cheap little paper speaker....Now that I think about it...it looks exactly like the ones you find in a PC tower....same connector too I believe!!!

I have the same cooing A/C noise from my 04 Vert. I took it in (3 times) for service but they said "Cannot duplicate the problem".
They are making it sounds like that I'm the only one hearing the noise and it is perfectly normal what they hear from my A/C.
How can I convince them about the noise? To me it sounds pretty loud but for them, they can't hear it!!! Aaaaaarg.........

I'm not sure but I can say that this sound was not there prior to the car being down for ~ one month due to a snapped output shaft.
I may try the drilling the blower motor housing and oiling it but I can't understand why it would only occur when the A/C is on.

I was listening to it again today and the cooing does not change pitch with blower motor speed. I am thinking now that the problem lies with the expansion valve which lets freon into the evaporator to cool the air moving across it. I think it may not be able to close completely and freon is leaking by which creates the cooing sound. When the A/C is turned off the pressure drops enough to allow the expansion valve to close.
This is my theory but I'm not bugged by it enough to crack open my A/C system to test it out. I don't know if you can convince the dealer that this is what is happening to have them try to replace the expansion valve to see if it stops the cooing.
Jut an FYI for anyone who may encounter the 'cooing" noise from the A/C in the future: My A/C also started blowing not so cold soon after the cooing started. I didn't do anything about it because it was winter at the time but now that it's warming up I hooked up my A/C gauges and I was about a can low on R134. After adding about a can (whatever it took to get the pressures right) it blows cold AND no longer makes the cooing sound.
HTH
PS: I have also since done the rocking seat fix and fixed my window rattling!

R134? You can get it at any parts store, at least here in Texas. Then you need the gauges (got mine @ Harbor Freight) that tell you what the high and low side pressures are at. Then you look up in the service manual what the pressures should be at a given ambient temp and humidity and add freon until you get there.
