I never cease to be surprised by something in my car.
As an old fart who stays at home most of the time at night, I don't do a lot of night driving. But the other night I was out in the black beast and I noticed there's a tiny amber light on the right side of the rearview mirror pointing downward.

I heard that it was to help illuminate the gear shift so people can see the pattern. I would personally like to see an illuminated shifter, so someone get on that!

I thought it was a warning light to let me know I needed to change the oil in the rearview mirror!
No wonder there is no dipstick for the mirror!
I had a similar occurrence. My wife took my corvette out one evening for a quick errand and when she returned she said some of the interior lights never went out. Sure enough the map lights on the rear view mirror and the control panel lights on the driver's door would not go out no matter what I tried. Finally, I decided to try the diagnostic error messsages in options and discovered that the rear hatch was ajar. I closed the hatch more tightly and then the lights went out.
More importantly, how do you change the bulb to a different colour? My Helm manuals does not mention it....
Is it a bulb, or LED? I would go look, but the car is covered. I would assume it is non-replaceable LED, as the map lights are, and if burnt out, the mirror assembly would have to be replaced.
