Guess I'm in the minority here- but I LOVE when it snows (well less then 4" or so) so I can take my car out to the parking lots and do donuts. Its ALOT of fun. I just ordered the goodyear EMT snow tires to further help me get around.

Yes my car is a daily driver and I use it for everything.

.... .... Not enough snow for the snowmobiles yet, but my vette is handling what we have so far.

Maybe in Arizona. The plastic body may not rust, but salt will attack just about any untreated metal.

You obviously have never seen the frame on an older Corvette, say C2 or C3, that spent its life in the snow belt!!! Like paper.

This time of year the Vette stays in, the Polaris stays out.

I am keeping my 98 in the garage for the winter. Just today, 2 inches of snow and I am watching the guy behind me slide out of control, completely sideways coming at the back of my car. Five minutes later
I am passing a sand truck and the side of my car was being sand-blasted. I have a daily driver for this

Here's what you do if you must drive a prized possession on salty roads... Lay the last 25' of your garden hose down the length of your driveway and install a misting sprinkler on the end. Drive your car over the hose so the hose follows the tunnel of the car front to back. Turn on the hose and slowly pull it from one end of the car to the other stopping every couple feet to let it flush the area well. Do this under the right, center, and left sides. This should flush things out pretty good. The secret is to find a good sprinkler that disperses a nice mist rather than a heavy spray, this way you get better coverage. If you want to go nuts, run some Salt Away/Salt Terminator in-line... you can get it a most marine stores, it works great at killing salt.

Hmmm...You wanted to take the vette out, but he said there's too much salt on the road? Whose car is it, anyway??

I think Alex said it all. I've seen what salt does or can do to aluminum. It's not pretty.

Default Is the Vette Different from other cars???

All this talk about not driving a Vette on salted roads makes me ask.....Is this car different from all others?

I have been driving nice cars on salt for years as do many many other people. BMW's, Mercedes, Porsches, Caddies, Lexus.........you see them every day.

Is there something unique about the Vette that makes it more succeptable to salt damage than all other cars? Or are we just talking about keeping them in showroom condition?

Well I am flying back to PA on Sat. to pick up my new(for me)03 Z06 and driving it back home to San Diego. I guess I have no choice, cause I'm not leaving w/o it!

I hate to think how much fun I'd have missed if I didn't drive the Vette in winter come hell, high water, sand, salt, whatever!
It still looks great after wash n' wax in the garage. I like to look at her too, but I like to drive her even more!!
