Has anyone had problems at fill up. At every fill up and at different stations, gas nozzle shuts off. sometimes 2 to 3 attempts to seat it just right so gas will flow. The last thing any car needs is the pump to kick on and off. (stirs tank sediment) I am think is a vac, problem. Any Comments/Advice.

What year is your car???I think late 03, early 04 cars have bulletin about this issue . The fuel hose from filler neck was improperly formed or kinked causing this condition. Take to reputable dealer and have them inspect bulletins for this concern

i'm sure it's a pain to fill your car when the nozzle keeps clicking off, especially in the cold weather.however the part about "stirs tank sediment" is wrong.the fuel pick up is at the bottom of the tank anyway.the car is always drawing fuel from the bottom of the tank.even with all the fuel pumps we change it is very rare to see sediment in a tank.it gets pumped into the fuel filter.i have read a tsb about this problem.your dealer will know about it.if i remember,it only paid about a half hour to correct the problem filler hose.

Thanks I will look into this. And thats also good to here about the filters, I have 3,300 miles in the car and this problem has been at every fill up. its driving me nuts.
This is interesting. Same thing happens to me. I was at a Chevron station the other night chattin' it up with a guy with a new Z and he said the same thing to me to--"do you have problems filling up with the nozzle always shutting off?"
It's only happened to me at a Chevron though. Quirk with their fuel pumps?
I have had the same problem on my 2003 Z06 before. But I won't take it in to a dealership for the fix (replacement of fuel tank nozzle). Considering what has to be done, they would only mess something else up in the process. The new part is supposed to be for smoother flow of the fuel.
I have found by filling the tank up slowly this problem doesn't occur anymore. It is amazing GM didn't find this issue early on in 1997.

You mean there are actually people out there that don't use self serve?
And there are no real dealers. At least not with good service departments. I wonder how many would even know what a good service department is. You would have to know something about engine mechanics to know what I mean.
Been there, done that. Some pumps were worse than others. Solution: there is a TSB out there for an updated fuel filler neck. Had mine changed and problem solved.
How long did it take them to do the fix and do you know exactly what they had to remove to get to it? Was anything scratched when they finished?
I had another vehicle where the engine was replaced under warranty. When they were done I looked under the hood and noticed numerous areas where they scratched the paint off the engine bay. I asked about it and they said the manufacture realizes there will be scratches in doing a replacement like this and it is acceptable. I was like WTF! They didn't even offer to at least repaint the scratched area so it wouldn't get corrosion.
You drive a Corvette, and you are worried about sediment getting stirred up by the gas pump? What about those right, left, right, hard-brake, right, accell hard manuvers with 1/4 tank for stirring the pot?
