Default Well, I think the 'new' wore off my car...

I was doing some cleaning and filing around the house yesterday and I got to looking at reciepts and notes about my car that I bought in May '03.

In the first 32 weeks I had it I put 9005 miles on it.
In the 55 weeks since I have only put 7814 miles on it.

somewhere along the line my car became a garage queen (or at least as close to one I ill ever allow it to be)

You better make up those lost miles and get out and drive it.

I have the same # of miles that you have and I got my car in March of 2002. You don't have a garage queen.

I've done 7000 miles in the 4 months I've owned Inferno - and I was out of the country for 30 days in-between!!

I paid for it, so I'm going to drive it. I need my fix of PermaGrin(TM) - I don't get that from just looking at it in the garage (though that comes close )

I drive mine every possible chance I get and I'll struggle to get 7,500 miles a year. I have a '98 pickup with 31,300. That's from having a Company vehicle I can drive 24/7 (2005 Tahoe Z-71) and the wife with a car she prefers to drive, an '04 Cadillac SLS. Plus there's the motorcycle and boat that need time too.

I average about 5,600 miles a year in the C5... and still manage to break multiple transmissions, differentials, engines, clutches, brakes, tires and wheels while driving.

I have other vehicles to drive so each one gets used on a rotating basis.

The "new" never wears off. I still look like this every single time I take her out ...
Got mine in April '03 w/12 miles on her - Right now I have just under 32k.
Bought it to drive it.

bought mine 6 month ago and only logged on 2,500 miles. 1/2 to the car wash, other half to pick up polish & wax.

Had mine 8 months and 1700 miles (400 of which was the drive back from Hammond,LA to Memphis). I have been busy. If I am going to have a garage queen, I am going to trade it in or sell it this summer and get a Z16 or another ZR-1 (something rare that I can justify sitting up) When I put this thing up for sale, someone is going to be buying a Brand New 04. I just washed and waxed it today..so I put another 10ft on it.

I know how you feel. In the first 12 months I had my car, I put about 14,000 miles on it. In the next three years, it has seen a total of 11,000 more. Got to get it out and drive the thing.
