well I went & looked at the 2000 blk vert-tan top Magnesium wheels. The car shows really nice BUT!... the two front wheels have some curb rash & I would want to do something with them. Am I better off replacing them or resurfacing them? HUmmmm what to do. Where do you even find a place that would resurface them, & do they come out looking good enough or is this a band aid solution... THX
Mine have a few scratches as well. I can tell you what NOT to do.
I tried using Dremel tool and slowly sand them down. Just made it worse. Plus it took the paint off. If you carefully used 3M Wet/Dry sandpaper, and worked it down slowly, I'm sure they would look nice, but then would have to re-paint them, then clearcoat.
Just put some aftermarket chromies on it. Keep the mags for track or work on them in spare time.
I have a friend that's having his wheels redone and it's going to cost him about $200 a wheel but they will look better than new. They will polish the inside of the wheel like the outside is polished. They should look great. And no there will be no degradation in performance or reliability. They will actually check the wheels for cracks and defects. Hope this helps. It's better than replacing the wheels for sure.

I've seen a number of places that advertise repair of the aluminum wheels, but really haven't seen any ads for the magnesium ones. You may just want to check the C5 Parts for Sale section and see if you could pick up a nice set for a reasonable price.
