Just noticed that on say a 60 degree day when the heat is selected "on" and set to say 70 degrees, after a short time the A/C light will also come on. If I shut if off, it will turn back on by itself-so both the heat and the A/C lights are on simultaneousely.
I wouldn't care as long as the compressor is not locked and pulled HP, but since my cam, heads, et al are new, the computer is still learning to idle with the A/C on-so that's why I even noticed.
If your system is set to auto.....it's probably turning on the A/C for the defroster.........or maybe not
Sometimes I think mine has a mind of it's own

If you want to turn off conditioned air (WHY?) The FIRST button to push is MODE. Push mode until there is no defrost icon showing (To feet or dash)
THEN hit the A/C.
Also, in Denver on a 60 deg day, the A/C compressor is just at idle, pulling virtually no HP. These compressors are different technology. They don't cycle on and off. On cool days they just work less. Just leave it on unless it's on fire!
